November 7, 2005 SPECIAL MEETING In attendance were Council members Tony Miller, Faith Portman, Trina Summers and Alan Wetzel. Mayor Sohm called the meeting to order at 5:00. He stated the purpose of this meeting was to adjourn to executive session to discuss prospects coming into Shepherdsville that will create new jobs. Mayor Sohm asked for a motion to adjourn to executive session to discuss new jobs. Tony Miller made motion to adjourn to executive session. Alan Wetzel 2nd. Motion carried 4-0. (Margaret Moore and Stacey Cline came in at this time) (Stacey Cline and Trina Summers had to leave before executive session was finished) Alan Wetzel made motion to return to regular session. Faith Portman 2nd. Motion carried 4-0. Mayor Sohm stated that discussion was held on prospects looking at the City of Shepherdsville to locate their business. He stated in 2002 the City had supported the relocation of Zappos.com and are now granting a resolution to support their KJDA application. Mayor Sohm read Resolution 05-03 granting the Mayor authority to confirm 1% tax credit for a period of ten (10) years on the City’s occupational tax. Alan Wetzel made motion to grant Mayor authority to confirm 1% credit for a period of ten (10) years on City’s occupational tax. Margaret Moore 2nd. Motion carried 4-0. Mayor Sohm also stated discussion was held on a prospect who wishes to remain confidential at this time. Faith Portman made motion to approve moving forward and supporting the KJDA application by sending a letter of support. Alan Wetzel 2nd. Motion carried 4-0. Tony Miller made motion to adjourn.
