April 17, 2007 SPECIAL MEETING
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO HAVE 2ND READING OF ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT FEES; AMENDMENT TO PERSONNEL POLICY ORDINANCE AND AMENDMENT TO CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO FIRE DEPARTMENT JOB DESCRIPTIONS Present: Stacey Cline, Bonnie Enlow, Margaret Moore, and Trina Summers Mayor Tinnell called meeting to order at 5:34. City Attorney Bill Wilson had second reading on Ordinance 007-(number to be assigned) amending a portion of Ordinance 005-663, Ordinance 005-652 and Ordinance 000-508 establishing all fees for the City of Shepherdsville’s wastewater treatment facilities. Bonnie Enlow made motion to approve. Trina Summers 2nd. Motion carried 4-0. (This Ordinance will be numbered 007-719)
City Attorney Wilson had second reading on Ordinance 007-(number to be assigned) amending portions of Ordinance 006-696 an Ordinance amending Ordinance 006-689 an ordinance providing personnel policies and procedures for all employees of City Government located in the City of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky. Bonnie Enlow made motion to approve. Trina Summers 2nd. Councilwoman Stacey Cline stated she feels we should amend the fire chief salary range as $50,000-$90,000 is too high. She feels since the budget is not set yet we should make this salary negotiable. Councilwoman Trina Summers stated we can amend this Ordinance before we hire a chief. City Attorney Wilson stated is can be changed anytime before advertising for the position. (Tony Miller came in at this time.) Councilwoman Cline stated she feels we should amend. Vote was taken, motion carried 4-1 (Stacey Cline voted against.) (This Ordinance will be numbered 007-720)
City Attorney Wilson had second reading on Ordinance 007-(number to be assigned) an Ordinance amending Ordinance 006-690 an Ordinance relating to the establishment of Civil Service positions for the employees of the City of Shepherdsville Division of Fire prescribing the duties and fixing the qualifications for said positions. Bonnie Enlow made motion to approve. Stacey Cline 2nd. Motion carried 5-0. (This Ordinance will be numbered 007-721)
Mayor Tinnell stated that Councilwoman Faith Portman was not present at the meeting due to the passing of her mother. He asked everyone to keep her and her family in their prayers.
At this time Mayor Tinnell asked for a motion to adjourn. Margaret Moore made motion to adjourn. Tony Miller 2nd. Motion carried 5-0. Meeting adjourned at 6:07 p.m. ATTEST: APPROVED: Tammy Owen, City Clerk Sherman Tinnell, Mayor
