Monday, October 22, 2007

 

Tim Wade, Lighthouse Baptist Church gave the invocation.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was said.

 

Mayor Tinnell called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

 

In attendance were Council members Stacey Cline, Tony Miller, Margaret Moore, Faith Portman and Trina Summers.  Bonnie Enlow was absent due to illness.

 

Stacey Cline made a motion to dispense of the reading of the minutes from October 8, 2007.  Faith Portman seconded the motion.  Motion carried 5-0. (Minutes of the October 8, 2007 meeting were not approved due to their unavailability.)

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

City  Attorney Bill Wilson had the second reading of Ordinance 007-(number to be assigned) an Ordinance concerning amending zoning maps of the City of Shepherdsville as recommended by the Bullitt County Joint Planning and Zoning Commission, changing the zoning for property located at 1746 Highway 44 East (1.37 acres) from R-1 zoning to B-1 Highway Business. Margaret Moore made the motion to approve. Seconded by Stacey Cline. Vote was 5-0. Motion carried. (This ordinance will be numbered 007-735)

 

City  Attorney Bill Wilson had the second reading of Ordinance 007-(number to be assigned) an Ordinance concerning amending zoning maps of the City of Shepherdsville as recommended by the Bullitt County Joint Planning and Zoning Commission, changing the zoning for property located at 141 S. Plum Street (.61 acres) from R-3 Residential to B-2 Central Business.  Motion was made by Tony Miller to approve.  Seconded by Margaret Moore. Vote 4/0. Faith Portman excused herself from voting due to her connection with the owners. Motion carried. (This ordinance will be numbered 007-736)

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

There were no reports from the Beautification or Sewer Committees.

 

Laura Lefflew,

196 Joshua Court
, would like for the city to come back and look at her property and the property around her while the conditions are wet.  She stated the water does not move anywhere and is standing in yards.  Mayor Tinnell said that he and the council will ride thru Bratcher Estates while the weather is still wet.

 

There were no reports from the Planning and Zoning or the Board of Adjustments.

 

City Attorney Bill Wilson reported that he copied the Mayor and Council on a letter concerning the bill boards and a letter that he received from our insurance company in regards to the Morris case.

 

There were no Departmental reports.

 

Stacey Cline asked about the guard rail that is being installed on the Peacocks property.  Jessie Walls responded that the company that they purchased it from will install it as soon as they get it scheduled.  She also asked about the speed bumps for the park.  Mayor Tinnell responded said they still are looking into what they want to do.  She also suggested that the Council look into what can be done about people with their pets in the park that are not on leashes.

 

Trina Summers said that she is going back to look at previous drainage projects while the weather is wet to see how they are working.

 

Faith Portman made a motion to approve October bills for payment.  Seconded by Trina Summers.  Motion carried. Vote 5-0.

 

Being there be no further business, Tony Miller made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Stacey Cline.  Vote 5-0. Motion carried.  Meeting was adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
