MINUTES REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF SHEPHERDSVILLE 634 CONESTOGA PARKWAY SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY 40165 MONDAY, April 14, 2008
Pastor Randy Pace from Faith Worship Center said the invocation. The Pledge of Alliance to the flag was said Mayor Tinnell called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In attendance were Council members Stacey Cline, Bonnie Enlow, Tony Miller, Margaret Moore, Faith Portman and Trina Summers. Mr. Miller made the motion to dispense of the reading of the minutes from the March 24th, 2008 City Council meeting. Ms. Cline 2nd. Motion carried 6-0. Ms. Portman made the motion to approve the minutes as presented. Ms. Summers 2nd. Motion carried 6-0 Mayor Tinnell reminded everyone that the Bullitt County cleanup is scheduled for April 19 & 26th. He also reminded everyone that the 1st Annual Car Show will be at First Street Park on April 26th. He also mentioned that the National Day of Prayer will be May 1st. Old Business: None New Business: Appointments: Motion by Ms. Cline to re-appoint David Billings to the Civil Service Board for a 3 year term. 2nd by Ms. Portman. Motion carried 6-0. Motion by Ms. Portman to appoint Jesse Walls to the Ethics Committee for a 2 year term. 2nd by Mr. Miller. Motion carried 6-0. There were no sign in speakers.
Reports: Attorney Wilson-Ask the members of the city council to make sure they read over the proposed storm water ordinance because he would like to have it on the agenda for the first reading on April 28th. He also stated that the City needs to review the gym liability, perhaps some other organization such as the YMCA could take it over. Ms. Summers stated that she has talked to June and she is interested. Departmental Reports: John Bradley reported that the works department has repaired the drain at Carpenter and 2nd Street. They are also in the process of inspecting and replacing street signs throughout the city. Brad Whittaker reported that the fire department has scheduled swift water rescue training for the next two weekends. Jim McAulliffe reported that the city will be sponsoring a fund raiser for the Goronflo family and that he will have more information on it at a later date. Council reports: Ms. Moore asked if it is allowed for people to shoot fireworks at a private residence? Fire chief responded that only if they are legal fireworks. Most fireworks are illegal in Kentucky. Ms. Enlow reported that she worked with the mayor and Maxine and researched cell phone plans and that the City has changed all city paid phones to AT&T. The saving will be about 50%. Ray Walls reported that he is continuing to work at the cemetery. He needs seed and straw. Motion to adjourn by Ms. Cline, Seconded by Ms. Portman. Motion carried.
