MINUTES REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF SHEPHERDSVILLE 634 CONESTOGA PARKWAY SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY 40165 MONDAY, November 9, 2009
Police officer Tim Wade said the invocation. The Pledge of Alliance to the flag was said. Mayor Tinnell called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. In attendance were Council members Don Cundiff, Scott Ellis, Bonnie Enlow, Larry Hatfield and Alan Wetzel. Tony Miller was absent. Mr. Cundiff made the motion to dispense of the reading of the minutes from the October 26, 2009 City Council meeting. Mr. Wetzel 2nd. Motion carried 5-0. Mr. Ellis made the motion to approve the minutes as presented. Mr. Hatfield 2nd. Motion carried 5-0. Mayor Tinnell announced that Jim McAuliffe has a light stroke on Sunday morning but that he is recovering and doing well at Baptist East Hospital. Attorney Bill Wilson thanked everyone for their help on the CASA run they had in the park on Saturday and said that he heard several good comments on how well the park was looking with all the improvements that have been made. New Business: Attorney Bill Wilson read first reading of Ordinance 009-776-Open Burning. Attorney Bill Wilson read Resolution 009-014-Allowing the City Council to conduct a poll on Sunday alcohol sales in restaurants. Motion to approve by Mr. Hatfield. Mr. Wetzel 2nd. Motion carried 5-0. Sign-in Speakers: None Planning & zoning update- Daryl Lee-none Board of Adjustment update- Duane Price – none
Departmental reports: Chief Puckett reported that Halloween night went very smooth and without and incidents. Council reports: All the Council members present thanked John Bradley for his recent hard work on a very difficult project. Mr. Cundiff asked about the Bullitt County pool. Chuck said they were working on it and the county stopped and he has not heard anything since. Motion by Mr. Ellis at 7:05 pm to go to executive session to discuss litigation, property acquisition and personnel. Ms. Enlow 2nd. Motion carried 5-0. Motion to reconvene at 8:45 pm to return from executive session by Mr. Hatfield. Mr. Cundiff 2nd. Motion carried 5-0. Attorney Bill Wilson stated that in regards to property acquisition the Mayor was given direction. On the personnel no decisions were made and on the litigation he was given direction on how the council wanted him to pursue the matter. Motion to adjourn at by Mr. Ellis, Ms. Enlow 2nd.
