MINUTES REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

CITY OF SHEPHERDSVILLE,

634 CONESTOGA PARKWAY, SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY 40165

MONDAY, November 23, 2009

 

Police officer Mike Miller said the invocation.

The Pledge of Alliance to the flag was said.

Mayor Tinnell called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m.

 

In attendance were Council members Don Cundiff, Scott Ellis, Bonnie Enlow, Larry Hatfield, Tony Miller and Alan Wetzel.

 

Mr. Cundiff made the motion to dispense of the reading of the minutes from the November 9, 2009 City Council meeting.  Mr. Ellis 2nd.  Motion carried 6-0. Mr. Ellis made the motion to approve the minutes as presented.  Mr. Hatfield 2nd.  Motion carried 6-0. 

 

Mayor Tinnell announced that “Light up Shepherdsville” will be at First Street Park on December 4th.  There will be a parade at 6:00 pm and the light up will be at 6:30.

 

Old Business:

Attorney Bill Wilson read Second reading of Ordinance 009-776-Open Burning.  Motion to approve as presented by Ms. Enlow.  Mr. Cundiff 2nd.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

New Business:

Attorney Bill Wilson read First reading ot Ordinance 009-777-Amending Ordinance 006-690-Civil Service.

 

Motion by Mr. Hatfield to pay the bills for November.  Ms. Enlow 2nd.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Sign-in Speakers:

Joe Melton spoke about reopening the store located where IGA was as a liquor and cigarette store and the later phasing in a grocery store.

 

Planning & zoning update- Daryl Lee-none

 

Board of Adjustment update- Duane Price – none

 

Departmental reports:

Chief Puckett reported that Halloween night went very smooth and without and incidents.

 

Council reports:  

Mr. Cundiff thanked Bill Wilson for his work on the burn ordinance.

 

Motion by Mr. Ellis at 7:03 pm to go to executive session to discuss  personnel.  Mr. Wetzel 2nd.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Motion to reconvene at 7:35 pm to return from executive session by Mr. Hatfield.  Mr. Ellis 2nd.  Motion carried 6-0.

 

Attorney Bill Wilson stated that in regards to personnel no decisions were made.

 

Motion to adjourn at by Mr. Ellis,  Mr. Wetzel  2nd.   Motion carried 6-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
