MINUTES REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
CITY OF SHEPHERDSVILLE,
MONDAY, FEBRUARY, 22ND 2010
Councilmember Tim Wade said the invocation.
The Pledge of Alliance to the flag was said.
Mayor Tinnell called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m.
In attendance were Council members Don Cundiff, Scott Ellis, Bonnie Enlow, Larry Hatfield, Tony Miller and Alan Wetzel.
Mr. Cundiff made the motion to dispense of the reading of the minutes from the February 8th, 2010 City Council meeting. Mr. Miller 2nd. Motion carried 6-0. Mr. Ellis made the motion to approve the minutes as presented. Mr. Wetzel 2nd. Motion carried 6-0.
Mayor Tinnell announced that Bill Wilson was in Texas with his son this week because his son was being deployed to Iraq, and that Ms. Barbagallo would be standing in for him at this weeks meeting. The Mayor also stated that Maxine had been out due to surgery and would be returning the next Monday and Mac had had an issue with his blood pressure, but was doing well and out of the hospital.

Old Business:
Mayor stated that there were a couple things still on the table that they are waiting on because of Bill Wilson’s absence and the fact that he was still preparing the documents as well as some council concerns on the issues.
New Business:
Approval of February bills.
Motion to approve: Mrs. Enlow made the motion to approve, Mr. Hatfield 2nd. Vote carried: 6-0
Sign-in Speakers:
Chris Brown: (Boy Scouts) Presented a plan to build a wheelchair accessible area in the park around the walking area and requested approval as well as partial financing of the plan. The Mayor and council thought it was a great idea and agreed…the Mayor signed some paperwork for him and informed in that the cost would be less than his proposal because the city would utilize their own equipment and most of the materials to help as the city had plans in the works already and the Mayor said he would love for Mr. Brown to oversee it. Mrs. Enlow asked Mr. Keith to see what the additional cost would be to make it a covered area so that the handicap citizens could be protected from the weather.
Donna Lawler: She spoke against the de-annexation on Hwy 1020 because she feared the City of Hillview would then annex the new school that was built on Brooks Hill Rd where she works and begin taxing her and other teachers.
Planning & Zoning update: Daryl Lee: Was unable to attend meeting, but called to say he had nothing this week.
Board of Adjustment update: Duane Price: Said the county issued a conditional use permit for a new daycare on Lee’s Valley Rd.
Departmental reports: None
Council reports:
Mr. Hatfield stated that the sewer project was on schedule.
Mr. Cundiff said he would like to reiterate the need for repairs on Paroquet Springs Drive.
Chuck Keith stated that they would get started when the weather broke.
The Mayor offered several political candidates the opportunity to introduce themselves.
Motion to adjourn at by Mr. Ellis, Mrs. Enlow 2nd. Motion carried 6-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
