MINUTES REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

CITY OF SHEPHERDSVILLE,

MONDAY, April 26th 2010

 

Councilmember Tim Wade said the invocation.

The Pledge of Alliance to the flag was said.

Mayor Tinnell called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

In attendance were Council members Don Cundiff, Scott Ellis, Bonnie Enlow, Larry Hatfield, and Tony Miller. Alan Wetzel was absent.

 Mr. Miller made the motion to dispense of the reading of the minutes from the April 12th, 2010 City Council meeting.  Mr. Hatfield 2nd.  Motion carried 5-0. Mr. Ellis made the motion to approve the minutes as presented.  Mr. Cundiff  2nd.  Motion carried 6-0.

Mayor stated that the Joe B. Hall Street Dedication went very well.  He said that a lot of people showed up.

Mayor Tinnell announced a Proclamation (#2010-002) National Women’s Health Week (May 9-15).

Bill Wilson read the Proclamation.

Captain Bernardi presented the information for new Taser Rifles he is trying to get through a grant that will pay 100% reimbursement.  Bill Wilson read Resolution  #010-001 to Participate in the Law Enforcement Protection Program that is required to acquire the grant..

Approval of April bills.

 Motion to approve: Mr. Hatfield made the motion to approve, Mrs. Enlow 2nd.  Vote carried:  5-0

 Sign-in Speakers:

Jim Rice: Inquired about the city taking over Park Loop Road.

 Larry Hatfield made a motion to add requirements to the ordinance that would require developers to be bonded to repair the damage done to the roads by their trucks when a new building is erected.  Bill Wilson said he would make a draft.  Mayor and Mr. Wilson stated that previous developments would be exempt because they were approved prior to a new ordinance.  The Mayor also stated that the bond should be required during the approval process.  Bill Wilson also stated he had made a draft on wrecker services and asked the council to look it over and give him some feedback.

 Planning & Zoning update: Daryl Lee: None.

Board of Adjustment update: Duane Price: None

 Departmental reports:  John Bradley said he and Jerry Croan had been out shooting elevations on manholes.  Chuck Keith said the boy scouts had concrete donated for the park project.  Mac asked if the city could put liens on the properties that the city cleaned up.

 Council reports:

Mrs. Enlow  thanked Chuck Keith for the works departments quick response to Roasted Joe’s sewer issue.

Mr. Cundiff stated that the Joe B. Hall dedication was very well.

Motion to adjourn to executive session for Property and Litigation issues at 7:14 by Mr. Hatfield, Mrs. Enlow 2nd.   Motion carried 5-0.

Motion to re-adjourn at 7:54 by Mr. Ellis, Mr. Hatfield 2nd .  Motion carried 5-0.

 Council designated Scott Ellis to be the voice for council in the Mike Schroeder Civil Service Case.

 Meeting adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
