MINUTES REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
CITY OF SHEPHERDSVILLE,
MONDAY, May 24, 2010
Officer Tim Wade said the invocation.
The Pledge of Alliance to the flag was said.
Mayor Tinnell called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m.
In attendance were Council members Don Cundiff, Scott Ellis, Bonnie Enlow, Larry Hatfield, Tony Miller and Alan Wetzel.
Mr. Miller made the motion to dispense of the reading of the minutes from the May 10, 2010 City Council meeting. Mr. Wetzel 2nd. Motion carried 6-0. Mr. Cundiff made the motion to approve the minutes as presented. Ms. Enlow 2nd. Motion carried 6-0.
Mr. Wetzel made the motion to dispense of the reading of the minutes from the May 17, 2010 Special City Council meeting. Mr. Hatfield 2nd. Motion carried 6-0. Mr. Ellis made the motion to approve the minutes as presented. Mr. Wetzel 2nd. Motion carried 6-0.
Chief Puckett, Captain Bernardi and Captain Patchin made a presentation of the 2009 Police Annual report to the Mayor and City Council members.
Old Business:
Attorney Bill Wilson read the Second reading of Ordinance 010-779 amending zoning for Betty Clark and Jerry Fleener at the corner of West Blue Lick Road and Bryant Lane. Docket #2010Z-08. Kevin Smith from 612 W. Bluelick Road spoke in opposition of the rezoning. He stated that he felt that the development of the property would cause water problems for the neighborhood. After pictures were presented and the council looked at information in the file Mr. Hatfield made a motion to table the decision until the June 7th Council meeting and give the council time to go look at the site before making a final decision. Ms. Marlene McMahan from 576 W. Bluelick Road also spoke in opposition. Mr. Wetzel 2nd the motion. Motion carried 6-0.
Mr. Hatfield also made the motion to table the second reading of Ordinance 010-780 regulating Wrecker Services in the City of Shepherdsville until June 7th. Ms. Enlow 2nd the motion. Motion carried 6-0.
New Business:
Attorney Bill Wilson read the first reading of Ordinance 010-781 making amendments to the nuisance ordinance.
Motion by Mr. Hatfield to approve payment of bills for the month of May. Mr. Ellis 2nd. Motion carried 6-0.

Departmental reports:
Jim AcAulliffe presented the council with some pictures of foreclosed property that he is working on. He also said that he worked with Judge Burris from Drug Court and had workers clean up the landscape around City Hall on Saturday and they had two truck loads of debris.
Council reports:
Mr. Hatfield said they would be testing the new clarifiers this week at the new wastewater treatment plant. He also stated they are looking at a new regulator for the Best Western Pump Station that should reduce the number of breaks that occurs there. The cost will be from $10,000 to $14,000.
Mr. Cundiff thanked the police department for a job well done on their presentation.
Mr. Hatfield also thanked the Council candidates for a good race in the primary and wished them luck in November.
Motion to adjourn by Mr. Ellis. Mr. Wetzel 2nd. Motion carried 6-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
