CITY OF SHEPHERDSVILLE
SPECIAL MEETING
Monday, February 21, 2011
Special meeting of the City Council to discuss financial issues of the City of Shepherdsville.
Mayor Ellis welcomed everyone to the meeting and called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
In attendance were Council members Alan Wetzel, Faith Portman, Don Cundiff, Bernie Brown and Bonnie Enlow.
After some discussion on approving invoices to pay Mr. Cundiff made motion to pay June-December 2010 City invoices totaling $88,261.32 and Sewer invoices totaling $59,122.45. Mrs. Enlow 2nd. Motion carried 5-0-1 absent.
City Clerk Richmond reported there was approximately $400,000.00 in the General Fund account and $350,000.00 in the Sewer account.
At this time Mrs. Enlow made motion to pay sewer projects (South Bullitt Interceptor, Salt River Interceptor, WWTP Expansion) September-December 2010 invoices not to exceed $170,000 with the exception of Flynn Brothers Contracting, Judy Construction Co, D & D Utility, and Tony’s Body Shop totaling $165,390.88. Mr. Wetzel 2nd. Motion carried 5-0-1 absent.
Upon looking at the bill list the Council asked the City Clerk to get with Judy Construction and get an updated account balance.
Mayor Ellis stated everyone can see we are trying to get bills paid and we will keep plugging away. We have to stay positive and work together.
Mayor Ellis also stated that he had recently met with Bunch Auctioneering who he would like to have auction off the larger pieces of equipment that was used by the Capital Project crew. He would like them to get an appraisal of the equipment and ask the Council to surplus the equipment so it can be auctioned.
Mr. Brown asked that if this equipment is sold would the money have to go back to pay on the bond. Mayor Ellis stated we will find this out.
Motion by Mr. Cundiff to adjourn. Mrs. Portman 2nd. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
